Operator Installer School

AFA offers this intensive, one-week course for both novice and experienced operator installers.

By combining a small class size with the practicality of both classroom and hands-on instruction, the Operator Installer School follows nine topics in gate installation, including the UL 325 standard for gate operators, ASTM F-2200 safe gate design standard, safety, types of gates, types of gate operators, accessories used with operators, telephone entry systems, installation, electrical training and training in vehicle detectors.

Students may choose to take the rigorous Certified Automated Gate Operator Installer exam at the conclusion of the school.  Note:   Completion of OIS counts for six months of credit towards the experience requirement.

The next session of OIS is scheduled for November 10-17, 2012, in Tulsa, OK.

Download the OIS application (PDF). Register early as this is a very popular program! Tuition is $1749 for members and $2449 for nonmembers.  Note: Members in good standing of NOMMA, DASMA and IDA qualify for the member rate to attend OIS.

Check back in late spring 2011 for information on available scholarships to the school.
