Access Control

Today's residential access control technology allows gate operators to be controlled by digital key pads, card readers, keys, telephone entry system or radio technology commonly found in automated garage door openers.

Residential access control has become more and more sophisticated as new technologies have emerged and offer added residential security and improved access control.

Barcode readers can scan decals up to 6' away on vehicles moving up to 25 m.p.h. and don't require drivers to open car windows. More sophisticated models are able to track who entered and who went out for added security. These readers better survive the weather and are generally more protected from vandalism than the old slot readers.

They are also a step up from the old radio controlled “clickers” that would get stuck and were expensive to replace. Today, the technology is hands free.
