Time is Running Out; Apply to Operator Installer School Today! Plus Scholarships Now Available!

AFA is pleased to announce that the second Operator Installer School will be held October 5-11, 2008, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Don't miss your chance to be a part of this extremely popular training!

The school has been extended an extra day (five days instead of four) in order to provide more hands-on learning time. Come learn from the operator industry's top experts from around the country!

This year, the new Gate Operator Installer Certification Exam will be given at the end of the school. This nationally recognized certification is sponsored jointly by AFA, IDEA, and DASMA, and is administered by IDEA.

Tuition for the school is $1749 for members and $2449 for nonmembers. Deadline to apply is August 10, 2008, and space is limited so apply today!

Two scholarships, generously sponsored by World Fence News and AFA, are now available.

To apply, please fill out the scholarship application and return to AFA headquarters no later than August 20th. Scholarship recipients will be chosen by members of the AFA Education Foundation committee and will be notified no later than September 1st.

In addition, the following AFA chapters plan to offer scholarships to their chapter
members: CFCA, Carolinas, and Pacific Northwest. (Please note that these scholarships are offered directly through the chapters and are not coordinated through the national office. Contact your Chapter President for more details.)

Please note that scholarship recipients will still be responsible for their own travel and incidental expenses beyond the $1,749 tuition.

Registration Now Open for Sales Training School 2008!

After a very successful school held in Chicago this past June, AFA will be offering the next Sales Training School - Consultative Selling Techniques session in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from November 2-5, 2008. Highly trained instructors include Bill Shirley, CFP, Master Halco, Denver, CO; Chris Chapman, CFP, Chapman Fence Co., Jefferson, GA; and Thad Claytor, Houston Fence Co., Stafford, TX.

Please consider attending and/or having others in your company attend. Previous students say that this is one of the most valuable business seminars they have ever participated in and that it has had a significant impact on their sales methods and success.

Don't miss the opportunity to become a Certified Gate Operator Installer!

Registration for the new Automatic Gate Operator Installer Certification program is open at www.dooreducation.com.  If you or an employee are a gate operator installer, please consider sitting for the exam in the near future.

Exam applicants will be charged a $250 fee by IDEA, which administers the certification.  AFA members registering and submitting the required payment to IDEA will receive a Self Study Guide from IDEA and a $50 rebate check from AFA.
