Sign UpThe COM program is tailored to operations managers, supervisors, and company leaders who oversee people, processes, and projects. It shows you can manage day-to-day operations efficiently and lead teams effectively.
Applicants must have a minimum of one year of fence industry experience (sales, installation, management, etc.). If you do not yet meet the experience requirement, you may still take the exam and your credential will be awarded once the requirement is met.
Applicants are encouraged but not required to attend AFA’s Operations Manager School to strengthen their knowledge and improve exam success.

Study materials are sent electronically following application approval.
The exam consists of 100 multiple-questions focused on management knowledge and problem-solving skills.
The COM certification is valid for three years. To renew, you must complete 12 hours of fence-, gate operator/access control-, or business-related continuing education within that period.
