The Certified Operations Manager (COM) credential is designed for leaders who manage people, projects, and processes in the fence industry.

Eligibility Requirements
The COM program is tailored to operations managers, supervisors, and company leaders who oversee people, processes, and projects. It shows you can manage day-to-day operations efficiently and lead teams effectively.
Applicants must have a minimum of one year of fence industry experience (sales, installation, management, etc.). If you do not yet meet the experience requirement, you may still take the exam and your credential will be awarded once the requirement is met.
Preparation
Applicants are encouraged but not required to attend AFA’s Operations Manager School to strengthen their knowledge and improve exam success.

Testing
The exam consists of 100 multiple-questions focused on management knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Recertification
AFA certifications must be renewed every three years to ensure that credentialed professionals remain up to date with current safety standards, business practices, and industry developments.
To maintain your certification, you’ll need to complete the required number of continuing education unit (CEU) hours during each three-year cycle and submit a renewal application before your certification expires.
