Single Family Device Onboarding Process is designed to guide end users, installers, and support teams through the registration and activation of CellGate’s single-family devices—namely, the Watchman W410 and W450. This course covers both self-registration via the CellGate mobile app and the alternative of assisted onboarding through Gold Key Customer Support. Learners will receive clear, step-by-step instructions for device activation, payment setup, and system configuration, as well as guidance on how to troubleshoot common user issues related to connectivity, credentials, and Wiegand functionality. Emphasis is placed on user empowerment, proper app usage, and the flexible support infrastructure available for seamless setup and ongoing access management.
Learning objectives
Identify the key features and capabilities of the Watchman W410 and W450 devices, including limitations such as single call group support.
Differentiate between self-registration and assisted registration methods, and determine when each approach is most appropriate.
Complete the self-registration process using the CellGate mobile app, including inputting required information, configuring billing, and activating the device.
Collect and prepare necessary account information for assisted registration with Gold Key Customer Support.
Guide users through troubleshooting common onboarding issues, such as forgotten passwords, signal or power issues, and Wiegand errors.
Perform basic diagnostics and resolution for connectivity problems, including identifying when to escalate to technical support or involve an installation technician.
Understand the function and proper use of each support channel, including Gold Key and Technical Support contacts for specific issue types.
Apply best practices for managing user access, including temporary access suspension and user profile updates.
